Let her be...a child

Add caption

I saw this girl at a Mangalore street corner. Eyes tinkling, utterly restless, and yet keen on her job--to sell me balloons. Amongst the many thoughts that crossed my mind, I wondered how it was for her to live on the streets with only her sister in tow...wondered if she had suffered abuse or if she escaped. Aah Universe, let this child be!

  1. I remember feeling the same way when I come across girls like her or even younger made to do acrobatics while a parent or elder sibling plays music in suburban trains. Any child who is deprived of a childhood is really a victim of abuse by an insensitive society, one that does not even realize that it is insensitive, or one that is helpless against its own insensitivity.

  2. The poor are becoming more poor and wealth accumulates in few hands. Dont know why we are unable to save these children and to preserve the beauty of childhood. The government...systems...laws so many tittles but no one takes the responsibility. I am afraid to think about my part in this chavos as I am unable to break my bubble
