She Writes, He Writes (Part-I)

In recognition of teachers who teach and in gratitude to my own teachers, a photo-essay on students across the country.

Yes, she writes. Village Jarkhi, Jharkhand





And he multiplies. Village Jarkhi, Jharkhand


And she prays, village Karanjo, Jharkhand
And they go to school, somewhere in Ghumla District, Jharkhand

And they dance. Sewagram, Maharashtra
  
And she plays. At an inter-village school sports competition, near Jagadalpur, Chattisgarh

She goes to school too! Near village Paruthi, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu

    2. Well yeah a couple of years i was there.. sadly no pictures , in those days a camera was a luxury and it used to be black and white .. I am talking of the good old days .. when we had to take our own mat of jute from home to sit on in the class room .. :)

    Beautiful Pictures...I would name it 'Colors Of Innocence' :D The teachers in the rural regions also seem to be putting in a lot of effort in making education an enriching experience as evident in your pics...Lovely!

  14. You are a photographer!! And a damn good one too. What expressions on the faces of the kids. Going to school seems to have meaning only in rural settings these days.For the rest, it is a mad race for ranks and marks with a huge load on their backs. Loved it :)

  16. And, it was high time that you started a photoblog with pictures that you click that speak volumes. So much to see, understand and appreciate in what we get. I loved the necklace of the little girl in the last pic that she proudly shows over her tie. The monochrome shot does stand out. The deep devotion on her face while praying is so amazing! Keep them posts coming.

    1. Yes, I loved that girl too--she is so awfully cute with the ornaments and bindi...and yes and loved the monochrome..the schoolgirl never once opened her eyes through the prayer!
